BRAILE - THE ONE EYED RACEHORSE

With such a large percentage of racehorses never making it to the racetrack. It is therefore always heartwarming to hear of racehorses that have obvious problems, actually winning races. Braille only has one eye. Bumble now owns Braile's Dam, Branston Gem, so it was great for the mare too that Braille notched up his first win.

Great news for all the connections, including of course the trainer, Tim Walford based in Sherriff Hutton, North Yorkshire.

Most of these three-year-olds were pretty exposed, but the winner BRAILLE was the exception as this was only his fifth race and his second in handicap company.
Racing prominently in the centre, the winner ran on well when challenged in the final furlong. He's blind in one eye, but is a likely improver.
